The Poplar Bluff Optimist Soccer League provides youth players with positive experiences and growth opportunities to develop soccer skills, confidence, and character both on and off the field.
The league hosts boys and girls teams ages 4–14 for the Fall League and Kindergarten through 6th grade for the Spring League.

- Teams are led by volunteer coaches across all age groups.
- Focus on basic skill development and understanding of the game.
- Emphasis on teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive relationships.
- League leadership includes a President, Board Members, Commissioner, and coaching staff.

Practice fields are available at Whiteley Park and Black River Park.
Schedule practices Monday - Friday for either 5 p.m. or 6:15 p.m.
Schedule practices Saturday - Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (one hour increments)
Soccer ball sizes by grade:
4yrs-K: #3
1st-6th: #4
7th-8th: #5
What does my child need to play soccer?
Shirts & socks will be supplied by OSL. Your child will need shin guards and tennis shoes. Most coaches will ask the players to wear black shorts. Soccer cleats are nice, but not a must at this level of competition. A soccer ball to practice with at home and to use at practice would be a better investment, but still not a must.
